Parliament: Meeting with the National Police Chief Confirmed to be Open to the Public



Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Bambang Wuryanto, confirmed the meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the National Police Chief, General Pol. "Tomorrow (Wednesday) the meeting with the National Police Chief will be open. Journalists can monitor directly on the balcony of Commission III of the DPR," said Bambang Wuryanto at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday night.


Bambang ensured that the meeting was open because Commission III of the House of Representatives wanted to thoroughly investigate the shooting case of Brigadier J at Inspector General Pol's official residence. Ferdi Sambo, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta.


According to him, each member of Commission III of the DPR will ask questions to explore the case of Brigadier J's death so that the case becomes clear and nothing is covered up.


"Tomorrow the public can see members of Commission III of the DPR asking questions in a meeting with the National Police Chief," he said.


Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Adies Kadir explained that the meeting with the National Police Chief would focus more on the development of handling the case of Brigadier J's death, where there are currently five suspects.


According to him, the summons of the National Police Chief and his staff are in the context of the task of supervising the House of Representatives Commission III of the National Police institution, particularly in relation to institutional elements suspected of being involved in the case of Brigadier J.


"We are not familiar with the term Sambo empire. However, this is a Polri institution that is a working partner of Commission III of the DPR. We as a supervisor of Polri's performance will ask questions related to the elements circulating in the community," he said.


Adies said that Commission III of the DPR had summoned the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), Komnas HAM, and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to explore information related to the case of Brigadier J.


According to him, the results of the deepening of Commission III of the DPR with the three institutions will be asked to the National Police Chief and his staff in a meeting on Wednesday (24/8).
